Total Lunar Eclipse
10 December 2011.
Although Tycho Brahe Observatory wasn't the optimal
place to observe the eclipse, due to the
watertower standing exactly in the viewpoint of the
totality, we decided to watch it from there
anyway. At first, we saw the sundown, then we began
watching the lunar eclipse from the watertower.
The totality was difficult to see, both because of
clouds in the horizon and because of the light.
Then suddenly Karl Palm watched a smile coming up from
the clouds, while we were inside eating.
We all ran out to watch the lunar eclipse.
After a while, Kjell started wondering what star we saw
close to the sundown.
It turned out to be Venus.
When the moon left the umbral shadow, we had to leave
for an astronomical party.
I had the opportunity to photograph the full moon later
that night.

The beautiful collection of moon and Jupiter below was
made by Göran Iveberg.
He was standing on the same spot as we did in June.
